Legionella Risk Assessment
(ABBE Level 2 Award)
The Legionella Risk Assessment Training (ABBE Level 2 Award Awareness of Legionella) is designed for individuals who wish to carry out Legionella Risk Assessments and gain a recognised qualification.
Candidates will have exclusive access to the NEW eTech Legionella software available on an iPad App.
The course enables individuals to become qualified and accredited to carry out Legionella Risk Assessments at properties where it is a legal requirement for organisations, or individuals who provide residential accommodation (including landlords) to take suitable precautions to prevent or control the risk of exposure to Legionella bacteria, under the HSE Approved Code of Practice (ACOP).
Who is it for?
The course is suitable for Domestic Energy Assessors and other energy professionals whom are currently a member of a professional body and/or has a qualification to PhD/Degree/Diploma in building services, Energy or Health and Safety.
The course includes a background into Legionella and the legislative requirements. Candidates will gain an understanding of hot and cold water (domestic) systems, control measures and risk assessment software demonstrations, using the eTech Legionella software available on an iPad App.
The course comprises tutorials, discussions, workshops and short knowledge tests.
- Know the health risks associated with Legionella bacteria
- Understanding how legislation and Codes of Practice can support the management of Legionella bacteria.
- Understand how to minimise the risks of Legionella bacteria
- Understand control methods used to reduce risk infection from legionella bacteria in hot and cold water systems
