Important Scheme Changes

Important Scheme Changes

We have updated our Code of Conduct which will be effective from 1st July 2019.

The document is available to view here, or accessible via the downloads area of the website.

The major change is in relation to the 'sharing of data' and 'assessor details' on the reports.

'An Energy Assessor’s details will be displayed on an EPC as per the MHCLG guidelines. Details such as name, email and telephone number will be displayed. Energy Assessors are not permitted to display any third-party company, sub-contracting company details, or false details that may mislead or misdirect a customer, if there is an issue with the certificate at a later stage. The EPC is the sole work and responsibility of the named Energy Assessor and not the company or sub-contracted company’s responsibility or liability.'

New Scheme Operating Requirements (SORs) for all strands

From 1st July 2019 all strands will be subject to the new SORs found on the Energy Assessor Scheme Operating Board (EASOB) website. Assessors are advised to read and understand the new regulations and the SMART rules effecting their strand.

New DEA conventions (version 11)

From The new DEA conventions are available to download here and are enforceable from 1st September 2019. We advise all DEAs to read and understand fully the new conventions and the impact these changes will have on energy assessors gathering and inputting data.
