The Retrofit Coordinator role is mandatory for all retrofit projects undertaken in conjunction with PAS2035, which is fully backed by the government and TrustMark.
PAS2035 stipulates that all Retrofit Coordinators must hold this qualification.
The qualification features 12 modules which together cover all the key aspects of domestic refurbishment:
1.1 INTRODUCTION TO DOMESTIC RETROFIT
1.2 RETROFIT QUALITY ASSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT
2.1 BUILDING PHYSICS – THERMAL EFFICIENCY
2.2 BUILDING PHYSICS – MANAGING MOISTURE RISK
3.1 ASSESSING DWELLINGS FOR RETROFIT
3.2 IMPROVEMENT OPTION EVALUATION AND MEDIUM-TERM RETROFIT PLANS
4.1 IMPROVING THE BUILDING FABRIC – FLOORS AND ROOFS
4.2 IMPROVING THE BUILDING FABRIC – WALLS AND WINDOWS
5 IMPROVING AIR-TIGHTNESS AND VENTILATION
6.1 IMPROVING THE BUILDING SERVICES – HEATING, HOT WATER, LIGHTING AND POWER
6.2 IMPROVING THE BUILDING SERVICES – RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS
7 POST RETROFIT TESTING, MONITORING AND EVALUATION
BLENDED LEARNING :
This option combines a two-day Retrofit Coordinator Bootcamp with on-line Learning.
You will still need to study and submit assignments online, but you will also benefit from expert-led teaching in a classroom environment.
The Bootcamp provides learners with a comprehensive overview of the whole course, focused on the key learning
objectives. Working in groups with peers, bootcamps help to clarify and establish
the fundamentals of Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management.
