Green Homes Grant Scheme

View all posts
With the recent announcement of the new £2 billion Green Homes Grant scheme, the Government is encouraging tradespeople to gain TrustMark accreditation. The Green Homes Grant will start in September and in order to gain work as part of this scheme, tradespeople must register for TrustMark accreditation.
The scheme enables landlords and households can be confident that their home improvements will meet high quality work standards and help them save money on energy bills. The work that will be involved in the Green Homes Grant scheme includes installation of insulation, heat pumps, solar thermals, double or triple glazing, energy efficient doors and hot water tank and appliance tank thermostats or heating controls.
This is fantastic news for our members who have already completed the Retrofit training and creates a great opportunity for those who have been considering our Retrofit Assessor training.

Our Scheme Manager, Stephen Farrow commented:

“I think it is a great initiative for homeowners to help reduce their fuel bills and promote energy efficiency. At ecmk we are committed to assisting the Government in meeting the carbon targets and reduction of fuels bills.
We are also supporting our members by offering discounted training and accreditation to meet the Trustmark standards and allow our members to be part of this great initiative.”

TrustMark is Government-endorsed and is a certification which allows households to choose tradespeople who are guaranteed to provide high calibre services to improve their homes. This helps to protect consumers and increase confidence as well as improve the likelihood of employment for tradespeople listed with the standard.

As a leading, Government approved organisation within the energy efficiency sector, ecmk are always one of the first Accreditation Schemes to get involved with worthy initiatives like this. We are committed to supporting this scheme and our community.
ecmk offer TrustMark Approved Retrofit Schemes for both Assessors and Coordinators, with in-house training available for those who want to become qualified Retrofit Assessors.
Qualified scheme members gain access to leading edge mobile and desktop PAS2035 Retrofit software provided by CoreLogic, enabling Retrofit Assessors and Coordinators to carry out Retrofit assessments and lodgements in accordance with the PAS2035 specification, which provides a ‘whole building’ approach to the retrofit process.

To become a Retrofit Assessor with ecmk you must be a qualified Level 3 DEA and have attended ecmk’s in-house Retrofit Assessor Training Course. We are currently offering this course online for a discounted price of just £750 +VAT. See our training calendar for dates.

To become a Retrofit Coordinator with ecmk you should possess the OCN Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management awarded by the Retrofit Academy.
